WordAlone Chapter - St. Paul and Minneapolis Synods

This is the home page of the
Twin Cities WordAlone Chapter

We are a certified chapter of the WordAlone Network. Our mission is to keep our members current with the latest activities of the parent organization along with the activities of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). We do this through monthly meetings held at local area churches and through occasional email notifications.

photo of stained glass windowOur meetings are once monthly and held on the last Thursday. Until recently we have been holding our meetings at the Roseville Lutheran Church but due to the price of gas and a genuine concern for fairness, we will be at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, Minnesota. It is yet to be determined how long we will be at Calvary but safe to say we will be there for at least a couple of meetings. Please check back here often for meeting location changes.

There are a great number of issues facing our Lutheran Church both on a local and national level. It is felt that while the WordAlone Network does a magnificent job of communicating news on the national level, there are issues and concerns on the local level that can benefit from local attention. Hence this website. As new developments arise they will be addressed here. This site contains a page entitled Links that will direct you to various websites such as the ELCA, WordAlone, Lutheran CORE, Lutheran Quarterly, etc. There will also be links to various articles and/or documents located on those sites. It is felt that by creating such links, it will simplify our members' locating the vast amount of information currently and subsequently available.

Notice

As you know, the Saint Paul Area Synod will be held May 30 and 31st. The Reference and Counsel Committee has released its preliminary report and the resolutions to be considered at the assembly are posted on the synod website.

Please study these resolutions and share your insights with people from your congregation who will be voting members at the assembly. If your congregation has not yet selected their voting members, please contact your pastor and volunteer to serve in this capacity.

It would be useful to know who the voting members are from each congregation. If you are able to acquire that information please forward it to our leadership team by e-mailing contact information to us.
