We had the privilege of having the Rev. Mark Richardson speak to chapter members at Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, Minn. at our February, 2012 meeting. Rev. Richardson provided a compelling narrative describing the LCMC, Augustana District, and some interesting developments in Lutheran ecclesiology (The study of the Church is known as ecclesiology. In general, ecclesiology addresses various issues, the most basic being a biblical definition of the "church" and its functions. Other issues involved in ecclesiology include forms of church government, leadership offices, ordinances, worship, and the relationship between the New Testament church and Israel, the Old Testament people of God. Therefore, a clear and biblical understanding is important to both Christian belief and practice.). These notes are in four parts. See them HERE.

graphic Luther RoseThis organization began life as a certified chapter of what-was-then known as “The WordAlone Network”. Time and circumstance brought about yet another Lutheran organization that we also joined, “Lutheran CORE.” As most of WordAlone's operations found their way into Lutheran history (the website, Daily Devotions, and Clergy Connect along with a document archive is still running), other national, Lutheran, church organizations sprang up, LCMC (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ) and NALC (North American Lutheran Church), and Sola Publishing. We support both of these organizations as well. Our mission is to provide our membership with the latest information on orthodox Lutheranism across the United States through monthly meetings at which a variety of prominent theologians, pastors, and lay-persons share messages of inspiration, recent events, and subjects related to Lutheran congregations still enmeshed in the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).

graphic of compassWe meet monthly with the exception of December. In the even-numbered months we can be found at Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, Minn.graphic of Calvary LC logo Over the years, Calvary Lutheran Church has generously let us use their beautiful facilities in which to have our meetings. We can never hope to adequately express our gratitude for the kindness they have shown us. If you are unfamiliar with the Twin Cities and, in particular, Golden Valley, please use the Google map HERE.

In the odd-numbered months we meet at Roseville Lutheran Church (RLC) in Roseville, Minn.graphic approximation of Roseville LC logo As with Calvary Lutheran (above) RLC has, over the years of our existence, stepped up and also with great generosity offered us the use of their beautiful facilities to use for our meetings. As above, if you are unfamiliar with St. Paul, and in particular, Roseville, please use the Google map HERE. Also, as with Calvary, our gratitude to Roseville Lutheran is simply too large to fit into adequate language.

Thank you, Calvary Lutheran Church and Roseville Lutheran Church, our gratitude is overflowing and we pray God pours out His richest blessings on your congregations!

Throughout the turbulent years of the 1990s and into the 2000s, the Lutheran landscape has undergone dramatic change. Religion of all types is under pressure through societal changes. The changes brought about by the occurrences at the ELCA's 2009 Church-wide Assembly have, combined with the societal changes, caused a great many Lutherans across the United States, Canada, and literally the rest of the world, great pain. New national organizations have and are springing up that, as God wills, would offer places of solace to these "displaced Lutherans." Organizations such as those mentioned above are growing constantly and offering fellowship in the true and pure Gospel of Jesus Christ. Find out more about these and many other things affecting the Lutheran landscape by joining us at one of our locations. Blessings!
